Risha, cathy cousin here. i'm busy planning our schedule for beijing. Which ming tombs do you recommend? Any other side trips from beijing can you recommend?
Did you try that tasty pork with chiles? Will you please take us to your favorite bao-zis and jiao-zis places?

Yes and yes! Sorry I've been meaning to get back to you about dinner plans. My recs: ming tombs-ding ling (where you can go underground and see the tomb), might as well also go to chang ling while you're there. For Great Wall, I preferred Jinshanling because there were hardly any tourists, downside was that some of the steps were really run down, but my dad and I also had a lot of fun at Badaling. Basically, you can't go wrong. You're at the Great Wall! It's amazing!

Risha, can you ask around and find out how much a taxi would cost from the airport to downtown grand hyatt? Muchas gracias. Cathy

RISH! all i have to say while browsing your pics is:

china is all about balls.

1) great balls of china, duh.
2) smooshy balls of dough steamed to perfection, aka dumplings
3) those clear balls in the water! please tell me that you tried them. can you bring me back one from china?
4) last but not least, risha's balls for romping around a foreign land like it's nobody's business!
love ya, girl. rock on.
